African boy behind bars.

Do girls really understand grief?
of how boys cry themselves to sleep
& cough pains out of their swollen throats.

Sometimes everything a boy touches is fire.
Burning inside of him is a feeling he is learning to explain.
Other times, he becomes a drum/beating himself to sound aloud.

In this poem,
nobody knows what it means to be a boy.
Of how boys mask their emotions to keep themselves alive.

This poem belongs to society.
That thinks because we do not go through periods,
we do not contain waste products in our suffering bodies.

Many boys have run miles with brokenness.
others have died thrice within themselves.
& some have forgotten the lord's prayer.

Most girls believe boys do not cry.
But many held tears when my parents took a voyage with death
& a few weeks later/my girlfriend wrote a breakup note & posted it on my door.

If you find this poem.
rejoice not/many boys are taking a journey to the grave
& this is a poem from a broken magical poet.
